Your Bio
Hello and welcome to Aram Schiffman photography. I never thought much about photography when I was growing up. (It was either for extreme-adventure National Geographic types, or family members wanting you to freeze a smile on your face while they fumbled around with a camera). Then I had a daughter. I bought a point and shoot film camera, and later, a digital one. My daughter started playing soccer. I was getting nothing! So I bought one of those SLR things that seemed to take better pictures. It's been a slippery slope ever since, and absorbing, gratifying, and sometimes frustrating interest. It's also endlessly creative. I'll never stop learning.
The name "Awacs" (in the URL) is a nickname my first martial arts instructor gave me. Apparently my sparring style reminded him of the AWACS radar airplanes. The nickname was offbeat enough to stick. That was years ago, but I still use it as a handle from time to time!
